Best New Event 2024 — MLB at Rickwood Field

Sports Business Journal has named MLB at Rickwood Field: A Tribute to the Negro Leagues as the "Best New Event" of 2024. This award recognizes a newly created or reimagined sports event that stands out for its innovation, execution, and overall impact. It celebrates events that deliver exceptional fan experiences, achieve commercial success, and contribute positively to the sports industry through cultural significance, community engagement, or groundbreaking concepts.

MLB at Rickwood Field combined a nostalgic fan experience with educational efforts, including ceremonies and tributes to Negro Leagues players. As producer for the event, BaAM collaborated with the City of Birmingham and the Friends of Rickwood to renovate Rickwood Field for the MLB game. BaAM also created an immersive fan plaza where attendees could connect with the history of the Negro Leagues and Players and managed site operations on event days.
