Blue Jays at Sahlen Field
Transforming a Triple-A baseball facility into a Major League ballpark for the Toronto Blue Jays’ home away from home
Amid a global pandemic, BaAM led construction management and project management for the massive re-imagining of Buffalo’s Sahlen Field. This project began in 2020 when Canadian regulations prevented the Blue Jays from playing their season in Toronto.
- Renovations, overlay, and delivery of temporary infrastructure to convert the facility into a regulation MLB ballpark
- A full rebranding of the ballpark, recreating the feeling of a home stadium
- Upgrades to the playing surface, team dugouts, stadium lighting, weight rooms, batting cages, training facilities, and more
- Significant permanent design and construction solutions for the start of the 2021 MLB season

The work completed at Sahlen Field in 2021 will remain as a legacy for the Triple-A affiliate in support of player development
The work they did actually created that feeling of this is the Blue Jays’ home, which I think is really important to the psyche of the team and the ability of the team to perform, and an unbelievable accomplishment given the tight timeframe.

BaAM’s design and delivery teams completed the Major League transformation in record time – 2 seasons in a row
